I had the great opportunity to photograph at the World Equestrian Games 2018 held at Tryon, NC this past September. Forty-seven countries were represented with the best horse/rider/driver/vaulting combinations in eight different disciplines in the world taking part.
What was impressive right from the start was the extensive amount of support that surrounded each competitor. Many at great expense to themselves travelled thousands of miles . Owners, sponsors, coaches, family, grooms, medical staff and friends surrounded each equestrian combination. Without this support it would not have been possible for these athletes to compete at the highest level in the world.
